The enamel ( some call it glass-ceramic) coating of the water container is essential for its resistance against stubborn corrosion processes. Enamel in the form of a liquid or powder substance is mechanically applied to the inner surface of the water container. After firing in enamel kilns, this substance adheres tightly to the water-contacting surface of the water container. Thus, the black steel from which the water container is made is isolated from the aggressive effects of water.
The enamel frits and clays used in world enamelling practice are almost identical. However, the addition of some components to the composition of the enamel can significantly improve its protective functions. For ELDOM water heaters, we use a unique new formula of wear-resistant enamel coating with increased zirconium content . This significantly increases resistance to high temperatures and guarantees additional durability and long life of the water container.
